Pilot Mark XV Ref. IW3253-01

IWC's Pilot line has produced some timeless classics since it first debuted the range in the late 1990s. A particularly retro treat is the squared-off hour hand from the earliest iterations present on this model. The stainless steel case of the Mark XV measures a very wearable 38mm in diameter and roughly 9mm thick, which makes it a winner for those who appreciate low-profile watches.

IWC’s Pilot model IW3253-01 is water resistant up to 60 meters (197 ft). The round case is paired with a black color dial with stick-shaped hands and Arabic numerals, hour markers, and minute track, covered by a sapphire glass. A solid case back is over the back of the watch case.

The case is in overall good condition with some abrasions and superficial scratches throughout, consistent with the use and age of the piece. The case back has light surface scuffs in keeping with the rest of the watch. The buckle has equivalent wear and scuffing throughout. The strap has been replaced with Veblenist Racing French Calfskin Strap.

During our quality control check, any necessary adjustments were made to ensure the watch was functioning as intended.

This IWC Pilot Mark XV Ref. IW3253-01 is offered as a watch only. This watch will be shipped in a Greenwich Time watch roll for safety during shipping.

The heritage of IWC is deeply rooted in American pioneering spirit and entrepreneurship. Florentine Ariosto Jones, a watchmaker from Boston, founded the International Watch Company in 1868. He drew on the help of eminently qualified Swiss watchmakers, modern technology, and hydropower sourced from the nearby River Rhine to manufacture pocket watch movements of the highest possible quality.

The Rauschenbachs, an industrialist family from Schaffhausen, took over the company following Jones’ return to the United States. During its early years, IWC produced pocket watches with a digital “Pallweber” display, as well as wristwatches for women and men.
