ABOUT THE WATCH

The Rolex Day-Date is among the most influential and classic watches of all time, and if you have kept up with popular culture or culture since 1956, it's not a claim that we have to justify. Basically, if you haven't lived under a rock for the last 60 years, chances are you have heard the term "Day-Date" or "President."

The Day-Date found its footing sometime around the 1960s. During this period, the watch developed its reputation as the timekeeper of choice for world leaders and the Wall Street elite. John F. Kennedy was famously gifted a Rolex Day-Date from Marilyn Monroe but never wore it publicly. The title of the first President to sport the Day-Date on the President bracelet goes to Lyndon B. Johnson. With him, the nickname "Rolex President" stuck.

CONDITION REPORT

This example is in good pre-owned condition, meaning there are some signs of wear and apparent scratches on the case and bracelet. This Day-Date is presented as a full set with a box, papers, and a Rolex warranty card.

THE BRAND

Rolex was founded in 1905 in London by Hans Wilsdorf and his brother-in-law, Alfred Davis. The company began as a modest endeavor, assembling watches from imported parts. However, Rolex soon grew into an internationally renowned brand through the great business strides that the young Hans made.

The Rolex name is inextricably linked to the ubiquity of the modern wristwatch, from humble beginnings to epitomizing achievement and prestige. The crown has transcended film, literature, fashion, culture, and history, worn by record-breakers, presidents, and fictional characters.
