Estate purchases

Estate Jewelry & Vintage Watch Buyer, Orange County

Settling an estate calls for a buyer who is patient, discreet and precise. Greenwich Time purchases estate jewelry and vintage watches from families, executors and attorneys across Orange County, either as complete collections or as individual pieces. We have traded from Corona del Mar since 1998, we evaluate everything in-house, and we pay promptly, by wire or check, once an agreement is reached.

Estate purchases handled with discretion

Estate sales are personal. We work at your pace, in whatever setting suits you: at our Corona del Mar showroom, or through insured collection from a home, bank vault or attorney’s office. Nothing is pressured and nothing is public. Valuations are explained line by line, so the family understands what each piece is and why.

Where an estate includes watches of real rarity, we can advise on whether a piece is better placed at auction — and tell you honestly when it is not. Most estate watches, though, achieve more, faster, through a direct sale to a dealer with a retail vitrine.

What we buy

Fine watches of every kind: Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Omega, Vacheron Constantin, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre and vintage pieces of nearly any origin, including those that no longer run. Estate jewelry is welcome alongside — fine gold, diamond pieces, signed designer jewelry from houses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Tiffany.

Condition is rarely a barrier. Serviced or stopped, polished or original, complete or watch-only, we will tell you what a piece is worth as it is, and what it would be worth with the work done.

Valuing an estate

Start with an inventory list and photographs — one image per piece is enough to begin. We respond with a preliminary range, then arrange a full inspection for the pieces that matter. Vintage watches are judged on originality: correct dial, hands, bezel and movement for the era. Estate jewelry is judged on the metal, the stones and the maker.

You receive a written offer for the collection as a whole and for its highlights individually, so you can choose the structure that suits the family. All offers are free and carry no obligation.

Working with families and attorneys

Executors and trustees need documentation as much as price. We provide itemized written offers, chain-of-custody receipts for anything we collect, and prompt settlement suitable for probate timelines. Multiple-beneficiary situations can be split by piece, with each item priced separately so the division is clean.
