As a particularly striking and rare complication, the elapsed minutes are counted from the dial’s centre. This highly functional and extremely practical special feature was developed and fabricated on the premises at Tutima’s manufactory in Glashütte. Central positioning on the spacious main dial assures that the elapsed minutes can be read quickly and accurately. The first quarter of the minute track, which indicates the first fifteen minutes and is important for many elapsed-time measurements, is additionally highlighted in bright yellow.

In characteristic Saxon One style, the uncompromisingly sporty look of this model is further affirmed by its nonslip rotatable bezel, which has a red marker and a luminous dot at the “12”. The sportiness continues on the comfortable and water-repellent strap, which is made of lightweight but durable rubber.

Reliable protection is provided by antireflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals above the dial and in the case’s screw-down back. The latter offers a clear view of Tutima’s shock-resistant Caliber 521 chronograph movement: the caliber automatically winds itself with every motion of its rotor, which is embellished with Tutima’s gold seal.

In 1927, Dr. Ernst Kurtz revived the watchmaking industry in Glashütte, Germany, by consolidating the city's production into two companies and developing the first wristwatch in the area. To address the concern regarding the transition from the pocket watch to the wristwatch, he named the brand Tutima, which is derived from the Latin word "tutus," meaning "safe, protected."
n 1939, Kurtz led the production of the famous Tutima Flieger Chronograph featuring a highly technical, durable, and unique movement called UROFA Caliber 59. This two-button chronograph was the first to boast additional timing and a quick-stop and restart the device; today, it is called flyback. This wristwatch set aesthetic and functional benchmarks and today remains an industry milestone. The Classic Chronograph remains in the collection and has evolved in its almost 80-year history.
